We will cover and refresh the basics like piercing ,sawing and hammering
.With basic design you will use cold connections and wire bending.
We will do a small amount of low temp soldering.
You will make several sample pieces to incorporate into a bracelet.
To keep it fun we will work with small found objects and problem solve of how to use.
PLEASE BRING: Any Jewelry hand tools you have, like pliers and cutters, hammers , steel block ets.
Scrap copper sheet and wire, fine to med gauge
Small found objects Large link bracelet blank or chain, if you don’t have that don’t worry.
Bring your questions on projects etc.
An old towel for your lap
I want to keep the cost of this class down, so bring what you can.
If you don’t have anything I will have kits for sale , with metal and wire .
Creative Elements does have a few things for metal working.
I WILL BRING: Extras of saws, blades, dremel, drills, vise, bench pins, propane torch for soldering. Lot s of odds and ends.

Encaustic is the art of painting with hot beeswax mixed with pigments and resin. The wax gives off a wonderful smell and a translucency like nothing else.
This class is good for the experienced and beginner.
Safety and ventilation concerns.
transfers, incising, scraping.
Surface texture with found objects.
What substrates are best and simple ways to display.
Using oil or pigment sticks.
I will demo both uses of the heat gun and the propane torch. For safety your main heat source will be the heat gun.
The substrates you bring can be found at Spokane Art Supply and Creative Element along with other Encaustic supplies you might like. These are Ampersand claybord , either panel or boxes. Small ones for sample pieces and larger for a finished piece.
